Seit Menschengedenken gibt es Zwist und Hader in jedem Volk um Macht, Reichtümer und Religion. So verwundert es nicht, daß vor einem Kampf die jeweilige Kriegsgottheit angerufen wurde, um sich einzustimmen auf das bevorstehende Gemetzel. Bei den Inselkelten wurde die Rabengestalt der Morrigu verehrt, die sich von den Leichen gefallener Krieger ernährt. Im gesamteuropäischer Raum wurde bis zur Christianisierung eine Dreifaltige Göttin unter vielen Namen angebetet. Als Jungfrau, Mutter und weise Greisin (Todbringende) stellt sie die Zyklen des Lebens dar. Die Rabengöttin Morrigu wird ihr zugeordnet.
